Huge swathes of redcurrants, black cherries, mild smoky and sweet vanilla oak greet the nose. Rich layers of blackcurrant, dense black cherry and notes of brown spice (cocoa, nutmeg), dark chocolate and hints of sandalwood on the palate. It keeps on unravelling as it breathes in the glass and decanting is not a bad idea. An amazingly concentrated, ripe, finely balanced wine.
